Digital Communications & Analytics

Using content strategy and analytics to understand what audiences need, what is resonating, and where digital communications can work harder.

The challenge

Communications shouldn't end once something is published. The challenge was to understand how audiences were engaging with our website, LinkedIn content and digital campaigns, then translate that data into practical recommendations that helped improve future content and support better business decisions.

The approach

Produced monthly and quarterly communications reports for executive leadership, combining website analytics, LinkedIn performance, search insights and competitor research into clear, actionable recommendations. Rather than simply reporting metrics, I focused on identifying patterns, understanding audience behaviour and evaluating which topics, formats and channels were having the greatest impact.

Outcome

Helped create a more evidence-based approach to communications planning by identifying content opportunities, measuring campaign effectiveness and using audience insights to continuously refine messaging, improve engagement and guide future content strategy.

Featured Example

From Data to Decisions

One of the things I enjoy most about communications is connecting the numbers to the story behind them. A report shouldn't simply tell you what happened, but should explain why it happened and what to do next.

Some of the questions I regularly explored included:

  • Which topics generated the strongest engagement?

  • How were audience behaviours changing over time?

  • Which channels were driving meaningful traffic?

  • Where were we losing attention?

  • What content should we create next?

Engagement Trends

June marked a strategic shift in our content approach, with publishing frequency intentionally reduced from three posts per week to two. As expected, this resulted in lower overall

impressions (39% reduction) and fewer clicks (35% reduction) compared to May, simply because there were fewer opportunities for audiences to engage with our content.

Despite the reduction in reach, engagement quality improved. Overall engagement rate increased from 8% to 15%, while the average engagement rate across our top three posts

climbed significantly to 25%.

Content Trends

June's strongest-performing content reinforced a clear trend: executive audiences respond best to educational, insight-led thought leadership that helps them understand emerging business challenges. Rather than product or service-focused messaging, the highest engagement came from content that explored changing CX strategies, evolving performance metrics, and long-term business transformation.

Key Takeaways & Recommendations

Results suggest that our content strategy is becoming more effective, even as overall publishing volume decreases. Educational thought leadership and research driven carousel

content continue to generate the strongest engagement among B2B executive audiences, validating our shift toward more strategic, insight-led messaging.

Going forward, we should continue prioritizing high-value carousel content while expanding executive thought leadership, industry trend analysis, and proprietary perspectives on AI, customer intelligence, and business transformation.
